Kanakia Group to invest Rs. 500 crores in residential, hotel properties

Kanakia Group plans to invest more than Rs 500 crores over the next two years for developing residential and hotel properties.

With a portfolio of over 13 million square feet across categories including residential, commercial and hospitality, the company current has 13 lakh sq.ft under development in residential space and 15 lakh sq.ft in commercial segment.

It has two hotels in its portfolio with Novotel (Ahmedabad) and Courtyard Mariott (Mumbai).

Company has land parcels in Panvel and Virar and plans to expand its presence in the region by buying additional land parcels.

In hospitality business, it is currently developing a 150-room hotel Hyatt Palace in Goa with investment of over Rs. 150 crore.

MHADA's Diwali bumper - 2450 homes up for grab in fresh lottery just before Diwali

Those who fail to win a MHADA flat in this month’s lottery can have another go in five month’s time. MHADA officials confirm that 2,450 homes will be up for grabs in a fresh lottery just before Diwali MHADA has good news for you this Diwali. According to sources, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has planned to come out with a fresh lottery of around 2450 houses. 

The houses located in Virar were earlier expected to be part of the lottery scheduled for May 31. But due to technical problem, the plan of including these houses in the lottery was dropped. However, now senior officers in MHADA say that the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation has given its go-ahead for the houses to be build up to 22 floors, the houses will be included in the lottery later this year.

Rates for these houses will be Rs. 3200 psf.
